Alfa Romeo Giulia (952) - RaceChip S Installation
Follow steps below how I installed RaceChip S.
Step 1. Open vehicle's bonnet and close and lock the doors. Wait 15 minutes - important. Remove engine cover by pulling it up. Before removing insulation cover, detach connector marked with green circle. To detach connector first pull gray lock backwards.
Step 2. Detach both common rail (3-pin) and boost pressure (4-pin) connector. To detach connector first pull yellow lock backwards and firmly press clip marked on third (3) picture.
Step 3. Connecting RaceChip cable harness. See first (1) picture with cable harness description. On the second (2) picture is each connector's position marked (circle) with the same color as in the cable harness description.
Step 4. Routing and fixing cables. To fix cable harness with zip tie I drilled 2 small (6mm) holes (see picture below). Next I routed cable harness close to cable management block in front of engine timing belt cover and then over to the glow plug control unit. See pictures below where I fixed cable harness with zip ties.
Step 5. Connecting RaceChip modul. Before connecting RaceChip modul you must remove deactivation plug, see pictures 1, 2, 3.
IMPORTANT - after connecting the green light on the RaceChip modul must not light. This can happen if you do not wait at least 15 minutes after closing doors and locking.

Step 6. Fixing RaceChip modul. I made alloy bracket (see first picture). I removed one hex bolt in picture two (2) to mount alloy bracket. Finally I fixed RaceChip with zip ties to the bracket.
Step 7. Reinstall insulation cover. Do not forget to reconnect connector marked with green circle in picture one (1). Place back engine cover and voila :).
Step 8. Carrying out function test.
- Switch the ignition on
- DO NOT START THE ENGINE
- Check for the following:
- Control lights on the dashboard light up and go out as normal.
- The power ON lamp on the RaceChip lights up.
- If all the above happens, you can start the engine. It should start as normal and should react to the throttle when idling.
- Switch off the engine.
